Deanna was a dear friend, especially at Eisenhower Middle School, although I could never replace her best buddy Brianne Bauer.

She was one of those peppy cheerleader types who never judged others, and who accepted all of us dorks as if we were the cool kids.

She was smart and talented and very sweet. Sadly, she passed away a few years ago of cancer.

I hope her family knows how much we appreciated Deanna.

Sadly I remember most of these we
have lost... Nancy Dennett used to
ride my bus, Kelley and I were best
friends in elementery school, and
Bobby was in some of my classes at
W.C. He had the most beautiful eye
lashes... We should add Mike Godwin
to the list, I think he took his own life, not sure of the dateline,
but he should be included. So sad
that so much potiential went with
these lives.

I'm sorry to see any of these classmates passing so early in all our lives. Bobby and I use to ride bikes together. One day we rode from my house in Hollywood Park all the way down to Brakenridge Park then down to the Tower. He had this cool cruiser that was sort of low and a really big banana seat. Man could he ride.

It was so cool to go cruising in Nancy's Cutlass with the T-top. Nancy was a very sweet girl and never passed judgement on anyone. Robert, Nancy had ovarian cancer, but she lived life to the fullest till the end from what I learned at her service.
Jason Hidy, it was always Hidy (Jason), Hime (Fern), and Hill (Lori) from Eisenhower on in to Churchill in homeroom. He was a great friend, very quiet, but we had been friends since 6th grade. He left behind a wife and like 6-7 young children. He passed away from I believe a sudden heartache at his home in Illinois.
I think every girl was in love with Bobby Cisneros eyelashes, but again what a great person.
So sad to have lost all of our classmates at such young ages.

I have so many great stories about Doug. He was one of the funniest people I have ever known. He was also a talented pilot.

His two favorite bands were Devo and Judas Priest. How far apart can you get with musical styles?

We used to spend weekends on his sailboat on Canyon Lake raising total hell and trying to coax members of the fairer sex to participate in our debaucherous piracy.

I remember going to spring break one year in his truck with Scott Menezes and Bryan Burns and when we got to the beach he wanted to drive his truck over some dunes. After some questionable tire spinning we asked him if he thought it was such a good idea. He said, "Don't worry, we can't get stuck. We're in a truck." Two minutes later we are giving a six pack to a guy in a jacked up CJ7 to pull us out of the sand. I think we camped out in the back of his truck that Spring Break...

We also had a bunch of memorable times in college before he died.

He was one of a kind.

Doug didn't just limit his four- wheeling prowess to the sandy beaches. He was a regular attendee of the "mudding" sessions we conducted in the back of the then-undeveloped areas of the Camino Real subdivision(? - I believe that's what it was called).

More than once, I saw him in compromising vehicular positions involving mud, but with that same confident, hip-deep in trouble attitude as you described.

(For the uninformed, "Mudding" is defined as otherwise illegal trespassing activity involving the willful destruction of motor vehicles, paid for by our parents, by subjecting them to hostile off-road conditions).

Although I transferred to WCHS our junior year, and didn't know him for as long as most of you did, I always thought he was a good guy and he kept me laughing in class. He was taken away from us much too early.

Noel was my first "boyfriend" in 8th grade at Eisenhower and therefore will always have a special place in my heart. I found out that he had died years after the fact and much as I wanted to contact his family to express my condolences, just couldn't.
He was soft-spoken, sweet and kind, a treasure to be lost so early in life.

Wasn't there someone who died very soon after graduation in an accident on Loop 1604, the death loop? I can't recall his name.

I still think about Tommy all the time. I tried to talk to his parents at his funeral about what an inspisration he was to all of us...but it didn't quite work. Do y'all remember the incredible article that Sean Page wrote about him- in the school paper I guess.
Tommy was just the "coolest" guy that I think I ever met- just something about him.

Tommy was a class act. I had a crush on him in second grade at Larkspur. Just a sweet, smart, athletic, unassuming guy. He wasn't supposed to live that long, let alone through his high school years. I don't know many people who would have that kind of grit.

I missed all of you great people at tne reunion. Kelley lived down the street from me, Nancy and I were good friends, and I always knew there was something special about Noel everytime he got on the bus. Does anyone know how/when Noel died? I hope to see you all next time, and thanks to Brenda Tyler for letting me know there was a reunion, and to Jill Litzinger for forwarding me info.

Noel was a long time childhood friend of mine. Our parents are still very close friends (Sarah, I will let them know your feelings). Noel and I had birthday parties together, went on a great vacation in Mexico one time, and numerous football parties. He was very smart, talented, and always very sweet. Noel died in a hunting accident. He had great potential and is still missed.
Kelly was also a friend of mine. She was a lot of fun. I have many fond memories of us at the beach laying in the sun with baby oil on.

Sherri, Thanks for sharing this with my family. As you know Noel was very special to me. Even though he was 11 years older, I always looked up to him. I was in 3rd grade when he was killed and sometimes I find that our family's tragic loss still overwhelms me. It surprises me how, even though at a young age, he touched the lives of others. And although I never knew any of these other WC students, I am sure their families feel the same.
Thanks for keeping their memories alive. It means alot to those of us that have lost our loved ones.
